Insight Meditation Community of Washington

Citrus Homes is a family-owned, company in southern California that offers high-end custom home build and design services. the owner reached out to produce a new logo + identity to represent their brand that prides itself on high attention to detail and superior quality work.

The Challenge & Solution

Eric, the owner of Citrus Homes, reached out for a logo and identity. something about….never having one because of family owned…. to start competiting in the high end market it was necessary. humble roots, how to appear professional to potentil clients in this uppity market without appearing stuffy, etc… The result is a minimal and strong mark that is reflective of the owner’s modest nature and ability to deliver exceptional results. The goal was not to be completely representative of the typical SoCal aesthetic that is present in a lot of branding in the area so we made sure to create a monogram with a subtle nod to a citrus fruit by incorporating a leaf motif onto the ‘C’.

This mood board set the pace for design direction. Clean lines, bold typography and minimal logomarks were kept as the driving direction in logo exploration. We wanted Citrus Homes to have that SoCal flair, but without the palm trees and bright colors often reflected in service-based businesses in the area. We needed to stand out from the sea of other builders by also representing Citrus Homes as not just a high-end build company, but a company that also offers design consulting and services.
